Have a Ball in Houston
When planning your next vacation, don’t forget about the beautiful and historic city of Houston Texas. Houston is the perfect place to visit if you yearn to see some new and exciting. There are plenty of things to do in Houston for both adults and kids alike.
If you are traveling with youngsters and want something fun and engaging you could visit the children’s museum of Houston, the Houston Zoo or Houston’s largest water park, Splashtown. Or if it’s simply you and your spouse or just a group of adults visiting the city, go back in time at the holocaust museum, visit the ever-popular fall fest, or take a tour of the Archway Gallery located in the heart of Houston.
The Children’s Museum
The Children’s Museum of Houston offers a fun filled, adventurous day for children of all ages. Three floors of interactive activities and games will have your kids entertained for hours on end.
They can build their own city using their imaginations and creativity to choose where and what they want to do with it, or they can test their science knowledge with interactive experiments designed especially for kids. With a relatively low admission price and the amount of things to do here you will certainly get your money’s worth and will leave with tired but happy kids.
Houston Zoo
If your children love animals, the Houston zoo is one of the largest and most exciting zoo in North America. Named on of the top 10 best zoos in America, your kids will have a blast exploring the different animals and learning about them as well. Not only do they get to see many different types of animals but they are able to get up close and personal with them too!
Splashtown
What could be more fun than a trip to an amusement park? Well, I’ll tell you what, a trip to a water park! Splashtown is an enormous water park located spanning over 40 acres and loaded with more than two million gallons of water for the ultimate summer fun! Splashtown is easily one of the most exciting and fun-filled things to do in Houston that will be fun for your kids and for you.
The Holocaust Museum
Although it may not be for the faint of heart, the Houston Holocaust Museum is a very historical yet emotional place to visit. It’s hard to read about something so awful that took place but important to be informed.
This museum contains important relics and historical artifacts that remind us of a truly tumultuous time period and allows guests to reflect and remember the lives taken and the history that ensued. I would recommend visiting without young children but would suggest bring along your teens and pre-teens as this is a really great learning experience too.
Fall Fest
Every year in the fall Houston holds its annual fall fest fun and festivities. In the heart of downtown Houston, you get to walk through the beautiful city, take in the scenery while enjoying live music, local beer and wine and of course some really great food!
Each vendor offers their own unique good or service and you have the chance to try them all while enjoying some gorgeous Texas fall weather. With more than 50 vendors you will surely find something that catches your eye!
The Archway Gallery
Finally, for the more artistic type of people, make sure to hop on over to the Archway Gallery. The Archway Gallery is one of the oldest and most famous gallerias in Houston and is known for its exceptional works of art. Currently, the gallery is rolling out the new urban observations collection by Joel Anderson and this is something you won’t want to miss.
So be sure to take a tour of this spectacular place while visiting the city of Houston.
So as you can see there are plenty of things to do Houston that will be fun for the whole family. Whether you spend your time splashing around the water park or taking a peaceful tour of the Archway Gallery you are sure to enjoy a wonderful vacation in the beautiful city of Houston Texas.
